A Few Notes about My Planning and Pacing Materials
I considered Next Generation Science Standards, the difficulty and maturity of topics and the flow of topics between units when designing my planning and pacing guides.
I offer differentiated versions of each unit plan that are fully editable. I tend to be very comprehensive and inclusive so you may find the need to "cut out" lessons or labs from the version you choose.
In general, more time is allocated to science per week in higher grades than lower grades and my plans are considerate of this. You will see I allow more lessons/labs per week in advanced versions and intermediate versions compared to basic versions.
The subject plans provide the order of units I suggest for teaching in a given year.
My planning and pacing materials are a template and starting place for many educators. Time, resources and other factors will determine how you may need to manipulate my plans to make them work for you.
